Music Lessons Temporarily Going Online

Dear Students,

With the current lockdown measures in place as of Dec 26 2020, we will temporarily take all music lessons online via Skype.

In-class lessons are scheduled to resume on Mon, Feb 1 2021. Please visit this page often for updates on the studio closure. Mattomusic thanks all our students and parents for your support and we will see you online this week!

HOW TO SET UP SKYPE LESSONS Step 1: Download the Skype App on your mobile device or tablet. You can use a computer if you have a built-in or external webcam. Step 2: Create a Skype account if you don’t already have one. Step 3: Click the Skype link for your teachers profile from the device you wish to Skype from. This was emailed to our students last week. Please contact us if you are experiencing any issues.

Step 4: Video call us through Skype at your normal lesson time. Set up your camera in a good position so your teacher can easily view what you’re playing.

We are looking for a Music Instructor who possesses a lively, outgoing, enthusiastic and confident attitude to join our team. If this sounds like you apply here!

MATTOMUSIC is looking for a multi-instrumentalist with teaching experience. Experience working with children in a group setting is an asset.

Music Instructor responsibilities include:

• Provide comprehensive music instruction to students of various ages, in a private or group setting

• Quick to pick up music by ear and can assist creative song writing with students

• Communicate with Head instructor as required, excellent communication and clear guidance with students and parents

Teaching Requirements:

• Have the ability to teach beginner through intermediate-level students

• Have prior music teaching experience

• Possess excellent communication skills

Fall Lessons 2020/2021 & Important Dates

We hope everyone is enjoying their last weeks of this very hot summer! We have some important information and dates for the upcoming 2020/2021 lesson year below.

Important Dates

Last Day of 2020 Summer Lessons: Monday, August 31st

First Day of 2020 Fall Lessons: Tuesday, September 8th

2020/2021 Lesson Year Closures:

• Tuesday, September 1st to Monday, September 7th - Fall prep and Labour Day

• Monday, October 12th - Thanksgiving

• Monday, December 21st to Saturday, January 2nd - Winter Break

• Monday, February 15th - Family Day

• Monday, April 12th to Saturday April 17th - March Break (updated)

• Monday, April 5th - Easter Monday

• Monday, May 24th - Victoria Day

Fall Lesson Times

We will be contacting everyone who did Early Registration to confirm their reserved lesson time for fall. Lesson times may be subject to change for any new sign ups over the summer, however, we will try our best to accommodate. In the unlikely event that your time needs to be moved, we will contact you within the next two weeks with alternative time options.

Programs

As many of you already know, we have switched most students to private lessons due to COVID-19. We are excited to slowly reintroduce more social programs such as our Band Lessons and Student Live Performances and will have more information in September. We will continue to offer online lessons for any clients that prefer this option.
